The now 180,000 square-foot building is where communities come together to watch athletes grow and commit to excellence of skating.
Skating Club of Boston
Construction started in 2019 where the three-rink training facility and performance center began to transform into a place where recreational skaters and Olympic hopefuls could take part in their passion.
The designers had envisioned a beautiful wood paneling on the exterior of the building which would present a great contrast to the charcoal and white palette. The subtle but important architectural elements added were the TS210 Concealed Fastening on an Aluminum Subframe System, creative more cohesiveness and unity amongst colors.
The chosen color was Trespa® Meteon® NW02 Elegant Oak. Combining the aesthetics of different textures, structures, materials, and colors of the Skating Club resulted in extravagant visuals.
Thanks to Trespa’s decorative high-pressure compact laminate (HPL), the structure can now sustain harsh weather due to the integral surface manufactured using Trespa’s unique in-house technology, Electron Beam Curing (EBC). Longevity and low maintenance costs being an additional bonus for a place housing some of the best.
